LEARNING TO LOVE YOU MORE
a slightly more literal application of an art project originally conceived by Miranda July and Harrell Fletcher. (more information) while the july/fletcher project engaged a general public and encouraged creative community - a community of love and respect, our iteration will focus specifically on one couple’s relationship. we will explore how the assignments behave within this specific construct. how they open and inform the relationship.
how “i” learns to love “you” more:
the previous post contains links to all the assignments already produced by july and fletcher. we can add to this list!
1) these 70 assignments (and any additional assignments) are to be chosen from at random and posed to the partner.
2) one assignment every three/four days.
3) the assignment list may be added to at any time, but…
4) that newly drafted assignment may not be chosen as the immediate assignment. the assignment’s poster must wait until their next assignment, or…
5) the partner may choose that assignment when their turn comes.
6) once an assignment is given, it cannot be chosen again for a period of one month, unless…
7) the partner wishes to respond with the same assignment. in this case, the partner may assign the same assignment or relinquish that right and wait one month.
8) this list may be altered at any time by either party.
